Master Tran was inducted into the Southeastern Martial Arts Hall of Fame 2009 in the category of "Goodwill Ambassador of the Martial Arts".



T.C.M.A.A. students received the 2009 Award of Excellent for their effort and dedication to the arts.

On December 17, 2009, Master Tran was awarded the rank of PAL-DAN - 8th Degree Black Belt in the martial art of "Song Do Kwan Kong Soo Do" by the Universal Song Do Kwan Alliance from Grandmaster John M. Crudup, founder and president. The promotion ceremony was held at Grandmaster Dr. Juan Otero Jr. school "Center for Karate & Family Fitness" located in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ.

Master QT was awarded the degree of "Security Protection Diploma" by the Security Protection Service Academy and also appointed as "Technical Advisor" for the SPSA.

On December 17, 2009, Tran's Combat Martial Arts Academy celebrates it Second Christmas. Students, friends and family members gathered to enjoy a warm family friendly night of dinner and fellowship. This year, over 50 people attended the Christmas Party. There were many delicious foods and also we had raffle. Everyone enjoyed the Christmas Party and looking forward to another blessing year.

On November 21, 2009, Master Tran was inducted into International Association of Martial Arts Hall of Fame 2009 as "Most Distinguished Martial Arts Grand Master". The award was presented to him by Grandmaster Gary Alexander. The event was held at the Grand Ballroom of The Forge Caterers Banquet Center in Woodbridge, New Jersey.

On October 8, 2009, Master Tran is certified as a martial arts chaplain with the SAMU Chaplain Corp - Clergy Team from Shinja Martial Arts University.


On October 4, 2009, Master Tran was appointed as Worldwide IPP Krav Maga Official Representative.


On September 26, 2009, Master Tran is the first vietnamese martial artist to received the highest official rank of 8th Black Level in AKERU Afrikan Discipline Sciences from the founder, Grandmaster Dr. Germon Miller "Askari Mwalimu Jamala Maisha Maharibi", 10th Dan. Master Tran is now an offical member of AKERU "Afrikan Cultural Arts & Combative Sciences System" and a family member of VITA SAANA "Afrikan Fighting Arts System" and will be referred to as Mwalimu Hodari Kiongozi "Instructor Warrior Leader".


On September 26, 2009, Grandmaster Dr. Germon Miller, 10th Dan, founder of AKERU - African Discipline Sciences conducted a successful workshop on Student Pledge Against Gun Violence at Tran's Combat Martial Arts Academy. Dr. Germon Miller is the South Carolina and Maryland representative for the SPAGV. Master Tran is also appointed as New Jersey Representative for the Student Pledge Against Gun Violence.

On September 15, 2009, Sifu Sunil Shakya and his family visited Master Tran and the TCMAA. Sifu Sunil Shakya and his family is originally from Nepal but recently moved to Maryland. Sifu Shakya is Nepal Representative for Master Tran organizations.

On August 22, 2009, Master Quoc L. Tran attended the 2nd Annual Pioneer Awards Banquet. The event was held at the James R. Cousin Municipal Center in Glenarden, Maryland. Master Tran was inducted into the Pioneer Awards Banquet 2009 and received the "Pioneer Award", presented to him by Grandmaster Furman Marshall and Grandmaster Reginald A. Jackson, Sr.

On August 1st, 2009, Master Tran received the "Alumni Award" from the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame.


On August 1st, 2009, Master Tran was appointed as Vice-President of Advisory Board for the International Shaolin Yangsheng Fa Association.


On July 19, 2009, Master Tran organized the annual summer mountain training for his students. The event was held at Bear Mountain, New York. It was a successful event and all students enjoyed it.

On June 27, 2009, Master Quoc L. Tran attended the World Karate Union Hall of Fame 2009 awards banquet. The event was held at the Inn at Pocono Manor in Pocono Manor, PA. Master Tran was inducted into the World Karate Union Hall of Fame 2009 in the category of "Lifetime Achievement Award of Honor".

The event was held at the Guoman Tower Hotel at St Katharine's Way, London, England. Master Tran also conducted a seminar at the event. On April 9, 2009, Master QT and his style of Vietnamese Combat Martial Arts / Wushu was recognized by the International Sokeship Society. Master Tran was also recognized by the Asian Grandmasters Society for his noble work in promoting martial arts.


Master Tran was appointed and accepted into the Advisory Board Council for the Okinawan Goshin-Ryu Karate-Do Association on March 28, 2009. Grandmaster Dr. Juan Otero Jr., founder and president of the Okinawan Goshin-Ryu Karate-Do Association presented the certificate of appointment to Master Tran at the school.


On March 30, 2009, Master Tran style of Vietnamese Combat Martial Arts / Wushu was recognized by the Black Lotus Martial Arts Association.


On March 30, 2009, Master Tran received a letter of recognition from Rev. Donald Miskel, President of Black Lotus Martial Arts Association. Master Tran is a member in good standing of the BLMAA Master and Grandmasters Council. Master Tran was recognized as a Professor of Martial Arts Ministry by the BLMAA College of Christian Martial Artists and by the Freedom Christian Ministries.


On February 28, 2009, Master Tran organized the 2nd annual winter training 2009 for his students. The training was held at Garret Mountain in West Paterson, New Jersey.

Master Tran was inducted into the Midwest Black Belt Martial Arts Hall of Honor 2009 as "Grandmaster Warrior of the Year". The event was held at Wyndhm O'Hare Hotel in IL, Chicago. Master Tran unable to attend the awards banquet event. The secretary of the MBBMAHOH, Dr Juan Otero Jr. brought back the award to NJ after the event and presented to Master Tran at the school.


Congratulations to Luke Vu - Nguyen for receiving the Academic Achievement Award on March 19, 2009 from the TCMAA in recognition of his outstanding academic achivement and received excellent grades in school.

Master Tran was awarded by the president of the World Jug Tai Association, Grandmaster Dr. Bill Ag. Drougas in Greece.


On February 28, 2009, Master Quoc L. Tran was once again take part in the martial arts history and was officially inducted into the U.S.A Martial Arts Hall of Fame 2009 as “Founder of the Year”. The event was held at the Ramada Hotel, New York next to JFK airport.

Master Tran recently went to Hollywood, LA for filming the movie "The Kill Factor - Thunderkick 2", starring Gary Wasniewski and co-starring Dan Severn. The director, writer and producer of the movie is Leo T. Fong. There will be a movie premier in London, England in June 2009, a film festival in July at Long Beach, CA, and a premier in Dublin, Ireland. The DVD release date is June 2009.

Master Tran new school Grand Opening Ceremony was held on September 20, 2008. Mayor James L. Cassella of East Rutherford was also attended the event and take part in a ribbon cutting.

On September 24, 2008, Master Tran was awarded the "Martial Arts Lifestyle Award" by the International Gu Ping Wushu Federation; in recognition of his commitment to maintaining a regular active martial arts lifestyle by studying and participating in martial arts.


On September 13, 2008, Master Tran and his student Wing-Sheung Lee attended the 2008 Wong Fei Hung North Eastern All Kung Fu Championships held at Saint Peters College Yanitelli Life Center in Jersey City, New Jersey. Wing-Sheung Lee competed in the Advanced Men Sparring and won 2nd place. Master Tran also served as a judge in the morning for the Pee Wee, Junior and Junior/Teen Sparring division.
